Novi pazar

I am glad that my publication  has led you to be more interested in Bulgaria and more specifically the town of Novi Pazar. I will try to explain more about us.

Bulgaria is a country in Europe. Located in the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula and occupies 22% of its territory. And the area is 110 843 km ², of which 110 510 km ² are land and 333 kilometers ² are water surface. The population is about 7 640 000 (2007). The capital of the country is Sofia.

Bulgaria  borders the Black Sea to the East, Greece and Turkey to the South, Macedonia and Serbia to the West and Romania to the North. The total length of the state border is 2245 km, 1181 km are land, 686 km – river (mainly on the Danube) and 378 km – sea.

The Bulgarian state in Southeastern Europe goes back to the 7th century, when it established the First Bulgarian Empire (632/681-1018). It played an important role in the spreading  of Christianity, literature and culture among the peoples of Eastern Europe. Several centuries later, with the decline of the Second Bulgarian Empire (1185-1396/1422), the country was conquered by the Ottoman Empire and remained part of it for five centuries. The Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878 years led to the creation of the Third Bulgarian State. After the Second World War the country became part of the Eastern Bloc and it was a communist regime. In 1990 in Bulgaria democracy was restored  in the form of a parliamentary republic and today the country is a member of the European Union and NATO.

Small country, but with an interesting history. Our city is located in the east, 65 kilometers from the Black Sea to Varna.

The Khan Asparuh united two tribes, the  Slavs and Bulgarians.

The Bulgarians decided to choose the  horse’s tail for their flag  because from an early age they bred horses and he  was their loyal friend to death. For their capital they chose the city of Pliska, that  is 5 km. from Novi Pazar.  Really amazing was the structure of this city, in  the construction of a Proto they expressed  all their architectural talents. The town was arranged in the form of concentric rectangles in the center of which, Holy cusp, was the temple of Tangra. The capital was surrounded by  powerful fortifications  and it spread on a large area (25000 acres)

The ruins of Pliska

Bulgarians and Slavs also formed one of our blessed unions which helped the two peoples to consolidate their influence on this holy land. They later merged and that the life of the Bulgarian people, who today lives here. Bulgaria became a country that was respected by their enemies in this vreme.Vizantiya even brought gifts to make a good relationship with Khan Asparuh.

10 km. from emerging markets is the  Madara Horseman reservation. Interestingly, here a rider is carved in the rock , with at his feet a lion and a copy in his hands. This shows that the Bulgarian soldiers were very brave. As you can see this rock is a unique place. According to some story, the caves were inhabited  by creatures who were not from the Earth. Tourists go there because they say they are loaded with positive energy. In the summertime,  large symphony concerts are organized there because the acoustics in these places is great.

There are many more interesting things about our city, I can tell you another time.
